Relive the glory days of the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) during WWII with this high-quality reproduction “50 Mission” Officer’s Crush Cap; so named because officers removed the wire cap stiffener to accommodate wearing head-phones while on missions. This is the classic "bomber pilot" headgear was worn by USAAF pilots in Europe and the Pacific! The wearer of a worn crush cap was considered an experienced combat flyer and had been on at least 50 combat missions. The crush caps became popular with ground army officers too, including general officers. This dark green cap is made from cotton twill with leather visor, chin strap and sweatband with gold colored army crest.
Also available in khaki.
