The M-1861 US Enlisted Frock Coat is the regulation dress coat for foot soldiers, including infantry, heavy artillery, hospital stewards, engineers, and ordnance department. The amazing-looking coat is made of “Federal" navy blue wool, with the body and sleeves lined in black, natural cotton. (The extended skirt is unlined.) The coat has an inside breast pocket and nine-button front that features Union Eagle buttons. The collar and inverted “V" on the cuff are piped and the collar is trimmed with blue branch of service.
