This is a heavy duty version of the Betsy Ross Flag. While no one knows for certain the details in designing the first Colonial flag, the Betsy Ross legend is the one most Americans have heard.

Fact or fiction aside, on June 14, 1777 (known today as Flag Day), the Continental Congress adopted this design as the national flag. "Resolved: that the flag of the United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation." The flag had an alternating red and white striped field with 13 five-pointed stars in a blue canton. The stars were in a circle so that no one colony would be viewed above another. The first documented usage of this flag was in 1776.

Made from 210D Oxford polyester, it features embroidered stars and bright gold fringe with a heavy canvas header. Fly-end has four rows of stitching. Brass grommets.
